Chapter 33 is the local EAA chapter for the Cedar Rapids / Iowa City area. Being a part of a local chapter is a great chance to get to know and hang out with other people who love airplanes and flying. We have around 115 members, ranging from those that love building airplanes, to those that aren't builders but love to fly, to those that are enthusiasts and dreaming of the day they will build or fly. All are welcome.

Over the course of the year, we hold 11 monthly meetings usually on the first Friday or Saturday of the month. We skip August as many members go to Oshkosh for AirVenture. We have a variety of meetings depending on the season. A meeting may focus on a visit to a member's house to see their building project, a presentation on some aspect of flying, or a potluck cookout. We strive to provide a balance of building and flying topics.

While our meetings and newsletter are definitely educational, the friendships and time together with other pilots and builders are the best parts of belonging to the Chapter. If you are building a plane, the assistance and support of other builders will make your project go much smoother. Please feel free to visit one of our meetings and we would love to have you become an active part of our Chapter.
